Midstream Lighting, renowned for its innovative sports lighting solutions, has proudly unveiled its latest milestone: an extraordinary project involving a state-of-the-art floodlighting upgrade at Stoke City FC‘s home ground in Stoke-on-Trent.
As the 2023/24 season kicks off in August, both players and visitors at Stoke City’s renowned Bet365 stadium will be greeted by a spectacular sight – a brand-new LED floodlighting system designed and manufactured by Midstream. With installation already in progress, the floodlights will be fully operational, illuminating the pitch when the Potters return after the summer break.
Midstream Lighting will install a total of 104 Modus S1500 and 66 Modus R1500 luminaires. These highly energy-efficient floodlights will not only enhance visibility across the entire stadium but also substantially reduce power consumption.
“We are tremendously honoured to have been entrusted with the responsibility of delivering Stoke City’s new lighting system,” declares James Brunt, Director of Sports at Midstream Lighting. “The installation we are undertaking will provide significant improvements whilst markedly reducing energy usage at the bet365 Stadium”
The existing floodlights at Stoke City have been faithfully serving the club since 2014. However, in this rapidly advancing era of LED technology, Midstream Lighting’s cutting-edge design provides a quantum leap in performance, delivering a full Premier League specification of 1650 Lux, while simultaneously slashing power usage from 528 kW to a mere 255 kW. This remarkable achievement translates into an astonishing 51% reduction in energy consumption.
“The Club is constantly overseeing a rolling programme of infrastructure projects to keep our stadium ahead of the game in terms of the facilities we offer.” Says Stoke City Managing Director, Richard Smith “Updating the floodlighting system this summer forms the latest progression in that cycle. The options it gives us, and the power efficiencies it provides, point to it being a wise and necessary investment.
Tackling such significant projects during such a short close season window can be immensely challenging. Midstream Lighting, together with the team of Stoke City staff we have working with them on the project, have my sincere thanks for their skill and dedication to bringing it to a timely conclusion in time for the new season.”
Midstream Lighting’s latest project at Stoke City FC is yet another testament to their unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence. With their cutting-edge floodlighting upgrade, Stoke City will undoubtedly shine brighter and captivate football enthusiasts like never before.
