The Port of Tyne ran a tender for the Design, Supply, Delivery, Installation and Commissioning of a new high-mast lighting system at a new dock extension.
Midstream was awarded the tender to carry out these works within a 3-month period. The lighting levels needed a 50-lux average value that was delivered with our Titan 420 LED floodlights installed on new 30m double-drum winch raise and lower masts.
The photocell would turn on just 4/10 of the floodlights at dusk, but the remaining 6 floodlights could be energised by way of a push-button on the mast. This ensured that high lux levels were only used during operations in the area, providing further energy savings.
The turn-key project which involved the delivery of new masts and their installation on new concrete bases was completed on time and on budget. Lighting level checks ensured the system was commissioned according to the design and specification.
